Investment with a Noble purpose

Covenant International is proud to present a new and creative Development Concept: Investment with a Noble Purpose. Besides raising funds abroad to help the needy children in all of our other programs, Covenant wants to be the unofficial ambassador for the poor and the needy who require jobs to support themselves and their families.

Covenant encourages foreign investors to invest in the various sectors of Ethiopia's economy. This will help create job opportunities for the unemployed. We believe this will be one of the best tools that will help us fight poverty and under development in this country. 

Since Covenant is an NGO, it's role will be first to encourage investors to go to Ethiopia, and second, to make the investment opportunity known to the potential investors. We will assist those who require advice and help connect the potential investors with those who can provide more information specific to their particular interest at no charge.

This creative development concept has a double blessing. On one hand, the investor will profit in their investment and also they will help the poor by creating the desperately needed jobs. One of the world's richest man, Bill Gates, has called this kind of investment "Creative Entrepreneurship."

Furthermore, the investor will help Ethiopia in developing it's economy. It is a fact that small business are the primary source of job creation for any emerging economy or poorer countries. This in turn contributes the most needed tax revenue for a country that needs to supply basic services for its citizens.

We need to re-think the methods of combating poverty, since donations and grants alone cannot solve the problem of poverty and under development. Along with job training, our Micro Loan Program, Leadership development,  and our support for Income Generating Activities, we believe this is a fundamental concept in our arsenal in the fight against poverty and it's consequences.
