LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

We believe that personal leadership development is vital to helping people take responsibility for their lives. In doing this we hope to create a foundation in training leaders in social groups, communities and families.

The focus of the training is taking personal responsibility for their lives. For example: challenging cultural mindsets that are contrary to their development as a person and as a community, and inspiring and motivating them to face and find solutions to their problems such as working in cooperation regardless of race or gender or class in society. Almost all of our seminars are free for the participant and sponsored by Covenant ministries.

We believe that one of the challenges facing the nation is a leadership crisis. So as part of our project the staff of Covenant trains adult family members, community leaders and church leaders in leadership skills and development.

For example:

-setting strategic and realistic goals for their lives.

-taking charge of their lives and in coming out of poverty.

-become a responsible  citizen and contribute to society.

The training is offered by the employees of Covenant in Ethiopia and periodically by guests from overseas.
Covenant wants to take the leadership program into neighboring countries as well.

As part of our vision, Covenant has a plan to take various people like educators and business people to Ethiopia to give training in their respective groups.

Our executive directors gave a three day seminar on leadership in the work place in the city of Deredawa in Eastern Ethiopia in their most recent trip. A local police officer, department Chief Major Fraiser expressed his gratitude after he witness the presentation and the impact it had on him. As an organizer of the Christian worker's association, he told the delegate he and his teams are willing to work with us in long term in this area.
